Are Guardian Angels Real?
It’s not wise to think about the reality of guardian angels without considering who angels are biblically. Angels are invisible unless God chooses to make them visible. The angelic host is too numerous to count; and while they are not all-powerful like God, angels do excel in strength. They can exercise their own will, and in times past, some angels did choose to pridefully rebel against God and pursue their own agenda-later becoming mankind’s greatest enemy, however; an innumerable number of angels stayed faithful and obedient to God, worshiping Him and ministering to the saints. Although angels can be present with us and hear us, they are not God.
Contrary to popular thinking, the Bible never says angels guard everyone. Angels are curious about the salvation God offers humans and how He chooses to work through His people. Throughout history, considerable controversy arose about individual Christians having specific guardian angels. Angels are continually at God’s command as overseers and guardians. We see this in scripture when angels surrounded Elisha and his servant, when Lazarus was carried by angels after death, and even when Jesus noted He could have called 12 legions of angels-around 72,000-to help him at His arrest.
That’s not all they do! Angels also can deliver, guide, enlighten or reveal information, provide for believers, serve as instruments of God’s judgments, carry out some of God’s answers to our prayers, encourage, strengthen, serve, and help God’s children at their time of death, carrying them to heaven. Though misunderstood and underestimated, guardian angels are real.
Guardian Angels a ‘big fish’ in fish fry bowl
Catholic Hotdish offers another review from Fish Daddy, who visits some of the hot spots in the Twin Cities for Lenten fish fries. He’s looking at more than the fish – it’s the fellowship, the friendliness and faith that makes this Catholic Lenten tradition shine. If you’ve ever noticed the iconic steepled church on the hill after traveling westward into Minnesota from Wisconsin on I-94, you’ve seen Guardian Angels church. If that’s all you’ve seen of the parish, like Fish Daddy, you ain’t seen the half of it. Fish Daddy even wondered if neighbor Best Buy was taking some of the parking spots.
Prepare to be amazed at the spread the Guardian Angels Men’s Club puts on. Guardian Angels serves up a generous helping of fried or baked cod, but it’s far from fish on a dish. From the volunteer who opened the door, to those who rolled out dinner tickets, to the small army of volunteers festooned in Guardian Angels-themed fish dinner shirts, it was clear this was a professional operation. With seating for about 400, there were helpers for coffee and soda, helpers for setting, helpers for clearing, helpers for dishing, a kitchen stuffed with food prep sous chefs, helpers for everything – except making the line go faster. When that’s your only problem, then you have clearly mastered culinary management, and the limiting factor is your inability to open another Guardian Angels location!
It’s a fitting end to the evening, but you’ll want to return for the Lenten vespers service 7 p.m. March 6. Guardian Angels is clearly a big fish in the sea of fish fries.
Fundraiser for David Lokensgard by Jen Houghton
Serving 80-110 individuals weekly, Guardian Angels Outreach offers help and hope to homeless and disabled individuals in our community. Our mission is designed to address immediate needs such as food, clean water, clothing, hygiene supplies and caring attention to each individual. We will be meeting at NOON each Tuesday at Verge Church, located at 7850 S. Dean Martin Drive Suite 503 to assemble meals and deliver to those less fortunate who live on the streets of Las Vegas near the downtown area. ALL donations of food, water, toiletries, as well as financial support is GREATLY appreciated.
They were You and Me less a paycheck, home or a meal. Shame for what he thought these people were, shame of his fear and shame of the way he had treated people like this in the past. He also wept because he realized that serving them had been as much of a blessing to him as it had been to the people he had served, probably more so. The following Sunday at Verve, Vince mentioned how moved he was by Gary’s story. The following week, a few more people along with 40 P.B & J’s and we are still growing!
This past Tuesday we served 110+ hot meals. We would like to expand the number of meals we are able to distribute and furnish quarterly hygiene kits. We are currently able to provide meals for 110 people a week. Our goal is to provide those meals for $2.00 per person, per week.

TheTrend: Guardian Angel, the biggest Gospel artist in Kenya. They’re from Sage Sanctum, a place for gods, goddesses and guardian angels – a place her mother once spent her days in. As her guardian angel, Eli will stop at nothing to protect her – like his father before him protected Ruby’s mother. Wow! Please don’t misunderstand what a Guardian angel does.
The Biblical FACT of the matter is that there are guardian angels over us who are continually waiting for God’s next command. The Lord sent two angels to rescue Lot and his family from the destruction to come. The angels watch over Christians, as evidenced by Psalms 91:11, For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Psalms 34:7, The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. By becoming a Guardian Angel, you can help a child continue to receive a quality spiritual and intellectual education.
