Guardian Angel Locksmith
A door closer is a mechanical device that closes a door, in general after someone opens it, or after it was automatically opened. Choosing a door closer can involve the consideration of a variety of criteria. Surface-mounted door closers come in four variations: slide-track arm, regular arm surface mounted, parallel arm surface mounted, and top jamb mounted. Overhead door closers are typically surface mounted, though most manufacturers offer concealed models too. Such closers mount inside a pocket in the door frame or are mounted in the floor directly under the pivot point and are completely concealed.
Another type of door closer, a surface mounted one, is attached to the door frame behind the door next to the middle hinge. There is also the storm door and screen door variation of the door closer: As the name implies, these piston shaped closers are used on storm, security, and screen doors which give the home an extra line of defense against weather, intruders, and insects. Whereas interior closers typically use hydraulics, storm door closers are more typically pneumatic, using air and springs to close the door. Storm Door closers generally have a small metal washer on the rod that is used to lock the closer in the open position when moving stuff in or out, but more recent models such as the Touch ‘n Hold door closer have a button to actuate the hold open feature to make this process easier. Finally, there is the concealed, jamb-mounted door closer, which fits in morticed recesses in the door and door frame and is totally concealed when the door is closed.
An automatic door closer opens the door itself, typically under the control of a push button, motion detector or other device, and then closes it as well, typically employing a motion or proximity detector to determine when it is safe to close the door. Door closers are most commonly installed on fire doors, which need to be closed in case of fire, to help prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
Guardian Angel – A Dream Fulfilled.
A big HELLO to all my lovely readers! Finally, an announcement I have been dying to make! I am proud and excited to be able to tell you that Guardian Angel, the fourth book of my Master of Illusion series is ready to be launched on Valentine’s Day. Thanks to all the hard work of my wonderful editor and web designer it is already available for pre-order with the major on-line book sellers. I regard this book as the fulfillment of a dream; a dream that began in 2013 with the publishing of my debut novel, Master of Illusion Bk I.
The dream continued with the achievement of Global ebook awards for books I and III and is now fulfilled in the publishing of Book IV. Guardian Angel was intended to be the final book in the series. you never know my characters do have a way of organising things for themselves! It can be read as a stand-alone book but still fulfills my dream of publishing a series. Guardian Angel tells the story of Nicolas de Beaulieu, the son of Angelique, my heroine in Angel of Song; a sunny-tempered, beautiful child.
Though born to wealth and privilege, he grows up facing the kind of challenges that would sideline most of us. As he matures and finds love, the biggest challenge of all raises its monstrous head. The novel is about how, he finds the inner strength to face and overcome his fears and foes. I do hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it and I would love you to tell me what you think. Once again, I must thank my editor for all her dedication and fantastic work in editing, designing and publishing Guardian Angel.
I must also thank my dear friend to whom I have dedicated this book for her encouragement and support over the years. Of course, to you, my dear readers, who make it all so worthwhile with your wonderful feedback, I thank you for your positive comments and awesome reviews.
I’m All Over the Place
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas, aunties, sisters, mentors, big cousins and elder friends. If you are a woman more than likely you have shared your motherly love with someone. From birth I have been taken care of by many women, not just my mom; so to all of them I say thank you! Thanks for the guidance, the love, the sisterhood, the motherhood, the advice and the friendship. All the mothers, big sisters, mentors and elder friends who took me into their hearts and homes where what my mom called my guardian angels; she believes the women who have mentored me and helped me along my journey were sent into my life as answers to her prayers.
In my nomadic days, the entire decade of my 20s, many people opened their homes, gave me unsolicited professional and personal advice and accepted me like family. This was the first time I had four women who were instrumental in my personal growth in one room! Christina, my babysitter from when I was little, was visiting from Hawaii. Mama Dunston, my mentor since the 90s, was visiting from North Carolina. My mom drove down to GA from KY.
Only mama Merrine, who I met in the 90s and gave the title of godmother, lives in Atlanta. Mama Dunston had been a part of my life since 1999 and had connected with my mom via telephone when they were both diagnosed with cancer. I am a better woman because of all the women in my life; and because I have been blessed it is now my responsibility to mentor, guide and share my love with other young women. It’s important to always remember that it takes a village, and most of us didn’t make it this far in life without the love and guidance from others. On this day remember to acknowledge and say Happy Mama’s Day to all the women who have been instrumental in your personal development.
